A Special Visit to Gilbert Street!
Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Anne Urquhart MP to our new education and care service on Gilbert Street in Latrobe.
During the visit, the Prime Minister spoke with our CEO Suzie Jones about Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s long and proud history of supporting children, families, and communities across the state. He also heard how our team moved quickly to step in when the Latrobe community needed support – working alongside Council, local trades, and community partners to establish this service in under three months.
Our visitors spent time with educators and children, seeing first-hand the warm, welcoming learning environments now supporting local families while our purpose built Cotton Street centre progresses.
Gilbert Street is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s expertise and passion come together with the commitment of community and government for a shared purpose. We’re proud of what’s been achieved – and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate it with the Latrobe community.
A Bright New Beginning for Children in Latrobe!
We’re excited to announce that our new Education and Care Service for children aged 0–5 years in Gilbert Street in Latrobe is now open!
A huge thank you to our builders, contractors, Latrobe Council, State and Federal Government and the local community for helping bring this bright new space to life in such a short timeframe.
