Education and Care Services
Lady Gowrie Tasmania offers education and care for children in 45 services across the state. Our 21 (Centre Based) Long Day Care Services cater for children from birth to 4 years of age (or Kindergarten commencement year) in nurturing, play-based early learning environments. Our 24 Outside School Hours Care Services offer before school, after school and vacation care programs for children from 4 (or Kindergarten commencement year) to 12 years of age in play and leisure-based learning environments.

Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s Education and Care Philosophy provides a shared vision and framework to guide our practice to ensure optimum education and care outcomes for children. Lady Gowrie Tasmania (LGT) has a ‘Children First’ philosophy, supporting the rights of all children to grow, learn and play in a safe place. OUR EDUCATORS
Lady Gowrie Tasmania engages qualified and experienced educators to develop, implement and evaluate play and leisure-based learning opportunities for children. Recognising the importance of continuous improvement to enhance practice, we focus on our workforce capability and the development and wellbeing of our educators.
OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH FAMILIES
Lady Gowrie Tasmania values and places high priority on communication between educators and families, both on an informal and formal basis. Daily interactions and communication with families about children’s learning, development and wellbeing is vital to ensure we provide high quality, inclusive and safe education and care.
OUR CURRICULUM
Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s curriculum model supports educators to collaborate, reflect and be intentional in their practices so we can offer a holistic curriculum that responds to children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Our Long Day Care Service curriculum for children from birth to five years of age is based on the Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework. Our Outside School Hours Care Service curriculum for children from five to twelve years of age is based on the My Time, Our Place: Framework for School Age Care in Australia. Using these Frameworks as a guide, our educators work in partnership with children, families, schools and other professionals to provide children with high quality play and leisure-based learning opportunities.

TOURS AND OFFER OF PLACES
Families are welcome to visit a Lady Gowrie Tasmania Education and Care Service for a tour before or after completing the online Enquiry Form. When you have completed the Enquiry Form, we can provide more information about availability of places and settling visits. If a place is not available at your preferred service/s, your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list until one becomes available.
OPERATIONAL AND FEE DETAILS
Hours of operation and current fee schedules are available from individual services or by phoning our Office on 6230 6800. The Federal Government provides financial support to reduce the cost of education and care through the Child Care Subsidy.
