Child and Family Wellbeing Program
The Lady Gowrie Tasmania Child and Family Wellbeing Program provides free confidential, practical and emotional support to Lady Gowrie Tasmania families and staff who might be experiencing some of life’s challenges or who may benefit from support in the day to day raising of their children.
Lady Gowrie Tasmania staff and families can access the service by either calling or being referred by a Lady Gowrie Tasmania Service or Program Manager and making a suitable time to talk or meet. The staff member or family can then share their concerns confidentially with the Child and Family Wellbeing support worker who will work with them to identify any goals and to explore any worries they may have.
A plan will then be developed between the Child and Family Wellbeing support worker and the family/staff member to determine the best pathway forward.
The Child and Family Wellbeing support worker may then assist in accessing services to support the family in managing parenting challenges, support them to provide for their children’s wellbeing and support for them to enjoy their parenting experiences.
The criteria for accessing support is that the family includes a child or a young person up to the age of 18 years who may be experiencing one of life’s hurdles or ups and downs that affect us all from time to time.
Some examples of the types of support include; managing challenging behaviours, support for changes in family structure and dynamics, grief and loss, or any matter that is causing concern or worry.
As a part of the program, Lady Gowrie Tasmania Child and Family Wellbeing Program also conduct information sessions covering topical parenting/family matters and as identified, any other mechanisms that strengthen and enhance parenting and the family’s wellbeing.
